Seminarians of the world unite!

Following from my earlier post, I am delighted to report that yet another new seminarian has joined the Orthfully Catholic team. A very warm welcome to Lumen Christi, who has already provided a beautiful first post. Please keep us in your prayers that this blog may help foster the New Evangelisation and help us and anyone who reads it to draw closer to Christ.

The Orthfully Catholic team (well, most of us, anyway) will soon be going on pilgrimage to Walsingham to dedicate ourselves again to Our Lady of Walsingham. Walsingham is a particularly special place for me because it was there that I finally decided to respond to God's call to Priesthood. Mary has been very present with me throughout my life and particularly as I go through the Seminary. If you have any special intentions that you would like us to take to Walsingham, feel free to leave a comment (and if you want to keep the intention private specify that you don't want it published).

Pray for the pre-pre-Seminarians, those who would one day follow your steps!

I see that as very much part of our vocation. Prayers are very much with you.

Welcome Lumen Christi - please excuse my ignorance but what does that mean?

I am new to your site and feel a little out of my depth so I hope you don't mind me asking - are you all a bit clandestine?

Not that I have a problem with your anonymity - I just wondered if it was intentional or if I had missed something somewhere along the way.

Re. intentions - please pray for the St. Martins Day Centre for the Homeless - that funding will become avaliable to keep it open or that we can somehow continue to access those who need its services.

Lumen Christi means "light of Christ.

Lumen Christi is sung three times as the paschal candle is carried into the Church at the Easter Vigil - one of my favourite moments of the Vigil, as Christ's light penetrates our darkness.

On anonymity, see my earlier comment on the "New Team Member" post from Saturday...

Will pray for the Day Centre at Walsingham.

In St Mary's Greenville South Carolina we have a splendid image of OL Walsingham, and this priest never says Mass there without first stopping to say a decade before the image for my adopted and beloved country of England
