Are there hand motions in Heaven?

Chatting after breakfast a small group of Seminarians were discussing Liturgical Abuse - as we do - and we reached that ever exciting topic, hymns. One of our brethren answered that ever looming question - Why do charismatics wave their hands around while singing? Simple - they're waving goodbye to Jesus!

Mmmmm I guess they could be waving goodbye to Jesus....lol

I think its more to do with entering into the Hymmn with the whole self....

Spirit, Mind, Emotions and body.....clapping being the body bit....

Thats just my take on it..but then what would I know.....

It's a good thing I wouldn't canonically be allowed to be pope. So help me I'd excommunicate anyone who does the handhold charismatic crud at the Our Father.

So if you ever attend a Mass in the US, and some woman is saying the Our Father with her hands jammed firmly in her pockets, that will be me. It's keeping me from throttling the person who wants to hold hands.

that's a bit of an arrogant comment don't you think?

Anon.

No I don't think it's arrogant, it is the truth - and as OC has expressed before; 'offense taken by the truth shows a need for growth'

no 'medic' you are wrong; it IS an arrogant comment.

To say they are 'waving goodbye to Jesus' suggests that such people don't 'truly' love our Lord....how on earth can someone judge that based on someone's hand actions?

It's the proud heart of the holier-than-thou TLM people that are in greater danger of 'waving goodbye to our Lord', than the humble young person with their hands in the air trying to express a genuine love for Christ.
